A lot of money is spent in marketing soft drinks and other high-calorie drinks that just are not healthy for you! Good looking models or celebrities holding a Coke or other drink and making it look like the thing to do or the message that now they have a "new, healthy drink that is low calorie." Don't listen to, watch, or read an advertisement about soft drinks (or fast food) without knowing the facts before you decide to give it a try.
An easy, safer, sure way to go about getting the nutrition you need is to stick with the basics - what worked before, what works now, and (providing we don't completely ruin our supply) what will work in the future. I'm talking about water. Fruits and vegetables also have a high water content and are 1,000 times better than most of the juice drinks on the market.
There are plenty of ads for new versions of soft drinks and we all like to try new things once in awhile. But why not make it a new exercise or physical fitness challenge. How about going hiking, or training for a 5 mile charity run? There are thousands of healthy things to try that will keep life interesting. We don't need the 300,000+ food products that stock the shelves of the supermarkets and big retailers. Why not try learning a new subject, or reading a new book?
Make the decision to live healthy and free from the burden of knowing what might be bad for you and stick to what you know is good for you!
